Feeling New(ish)
Ok. I have to say it…New Year, New Blog. (ish). I actually started a blog in my last semester of college and the class was titled something like, “Blogs, The New Media”…that was before the blogging world actually was a world. I had that blog from 2006-2011 and I have recently felt the push to start again. This blog attempt is (hopefully) going to be a little more focused and helpful. The blogging landscape is so incredibly different today than when I said goodbye 9(ish) years ago, and I’m actually really excited about what we can accomplish with this new idea!
BTW, I am Debbie and no one told me we weren’t supposed to smile in that photo. I am a wife and mother and I have goals outside of those two important roles. I used to work the grind in the 9-5 world and I tried a very short stint at real estate and then became a mom. Becoming a mom changed me completely and wonderfully. My husband (Tommy) and I have always loved working on our 1950’s ranch to make it our home and we love sharing it with others. We have slightly different design esthetics from each other, so the challenge of reaching common ground in our home design can be one of the toughest roads for us. The other challenge is we’re both fairly frugal, so we like to do as much as we can on our own while still being practical. My husband is great at DIY…he is that person who already knows how to do something or he will find it on youtube and figure it out…except plumbing, plumbing is his nemesis (and so is Ikea furniture). ME? Well, I Google and Pinterest a lot of ideas and I still have a lot of questions. I like continuous change in our home and minimal stuff, while Tommy likes to set it and leave it (and probably lose it) but also agrees on minimal stuff.
After having our little lady a few years ago, we’ve halted a lot of projects and change but accumulated way more stuff than we will ever need. We have both felt the push to create and refresh in our home space again so we decided 2020 is the year to start sharing our home projects and lifestyle again.
We hope this blog is helpful and also we’d love to continuously hear from you through your own journey!
Keep on Keepin on,
Deb
